We have to admit, we were intrigued when we first saw the new Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant as it’s the only product we sell which comes in powder form. But the more we read about it, the more we knew we’d love it and that’s even truer now we’ve tried it! Here’s a breakdown of all of the info you need to know about the Daily Superfoliant:
What is it?
The Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant is an exfoliating powder which, when mixed with water, forms a thick paste containing powerful enzymes, skin-surfacing alpha hydroxy acids and anti-pollution technology. It’s made from activated binchotan charcoal, niacinamide, red algae and tara fruit extract
What does it do?
This is a super clever product with many actions. It provides both physical and chemical exfoliation, which means that as well as your scrubbing action removing dead skin cells, the product itself contains a chemical which helps to remove them too. It also provides triple-action absorption which allows you to successfully remove the grime of the day and ensure that your face is the cleanest it’s ever been. The best part is that it’s mild enough to use on a daily basis without causing hypersensitivity. It also prevents further pollutants from sticking to your skin and reinforces your skin’s protective layer.
Who is it for?
As well as people with prematurely ageing skin, this formulation is great for people who live or work in cities or busy town environments, or even those who spend a lot of time on the road. It’s so effective at getting rid of external pollutants that it’s the perfect product for those who feel the need to give their face a good scrub when they get home from a hard day at work. It’s recommended for those with prematurely ageing skin because it actually works on a cellular level to improve the skin’s own defences.
How do I use it?
After using your regular cleanser, take a teaspoon of the powder and mix it with a little water in your hands until it forms a rich paste. Apply all over the face, focusing on areas which appear more oily than others, but avoiding your delicate eye area. Massage in circular motions for around a minute before rinsing with plenty of warm water.
How much does it cost?
It costs £49.50 for a 57g tub which should last for ages, even if you use it daily.
