Squinting in the sun can lead to fine lines around the eyes

Even during the summer months, the weather in the UK can be very unpredictable. It’s all too common to step out of the house in the morning to be greeted with dull, dreary weather- only for the sun to shine brightly just a few hours later.

This can make it all too easy to get caught unawares- which is certainly not ideal, as even small amounts of sun exposure can have lasting negative effects on the skin.

When the sun is shining brightly, many people find themselves squinting- and this can be a major factor in contributing to the appearance of fine lines. The skin around the eye area is significantly more fragile than skin on other parts of the face, which makes it even more susceptible to sun damage.

Luckily though, there are some quick and easy ways of protecting the eye area from damaging UV rays and restoring sun damaged skin.

In order to protect your eyes and the skin around the area from sun damage, you need to invest in sunglasses which can effectively guard against UV rays. In addition to this, you also need to ensure that you protect skin with a suitable SPF. Before sun exposure, apply a Dermalogica sunblock designed for use on the face- such as the Dermalogica Extra Rich Faceblock or Oil Free Matte Block (there are a range of different products available depending on your skin type.)

For skin that has already suffered skin damage, take a look at Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair– which is great for perking up prematurely ageing skin.

Enjoy the summer sun whilst in lasts- but don’t sacrifice your skin.
