One glass of champagne too many can leave you wanting to jump into bed with your make-up on when you get home, don’t.
However tired you are, if you clean make-up from your skin before you go to bed, while your head might be pounding in the morning, your complexion, and beauty conscience, will be clear.
We are going to look at some of the cleansers we stock so your skin will be squeaky clean even, when your memories are hazy.
When it comes to looking after your face when late nights are the order of the day, you can’t go wrong with the Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Cleanser. This iconic, light, creamy cleanser removes impurities as well as nourishing dry, depleted, party skin. This works thanks to a blend of coconut and murumuru seed butter that come together to enhance your skin and bring it back to life. Invigorating extracts of citrus, palmarosa and jasmine have been thrown into the mix to help soothe and refresh skin that hasn’t had enough TLC. Before hitting the sack, massage a little of the lotion into dampened skin, rinse with warm water, then tone and moisturise and you’ll be glad you did when the alarm goes off at 7am.
For something a little bit different, we would suggest giving the Decleor Clay Powder Cleanser a go. Made from a pro formula of essential oils, including neroli and green oregano, this is great for anyone with oily or combination skin types. From the first use, the goodness in this cleanser will nourish your skin so when you wake it feels great and silky smooth.
If it’s fruity products you like, we love the Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser. Perfect for combination or congested skin types, this deeply cleanses the skin, taking away dirt, sweat and make-up. It has a lush, unique texture and extracts of lime blossom, lecithin and vitamin E work to balance surface oils and soothe the skin.
Some of us have skin that is more delicate than others, and if that’s the case for, the Jan Marini Age Intenrention Gentle Cleanser could be what you need. The mild, non-irritating formula can be a blessing for sensitive skin and because it can be used around eye area, panda eyes in the morning will be a thing of the past. Green tea, grape seed and chamomile extracts have been blended to create a fantastic product that you might find works well for you.
Let’s not forget acne prone skin, as sleeping in make-up won’t keep breakouts and spots at bay. The Dermalogica Foaming Wash deep cleans and purifies the skin without stripping away those much-needed natural oils. Orange peel and tea tree oils energise and refresh skin, while salicylic acid takes away dead cells and make-up is wiped away at the same time.
Back to Decleor and this time we are showcasing their Bi-phase Caring Cleanser and Makeup Remover. This uses a blend of virgin botanical oils and floral water that cleanse and nourish the skin as well as removing make-up. It will take away even the most stubborn waterproof mascara and leave you with plump, smooth, even skin that looks healthy and radiant, even if your head isn’t feel quite as sparkly.
As well as cleansing, toning and moisturising your skin, before you go to bed drink a large glass of water and take a vitamin C supplement and you’ll be glad you did in the morning.
