REN’s whole philosophy of their skincare is “clean”. Clean for your skin, and clean for the environment. To them, it’s giving clients visible results from skincare that isn’t full of rubbish ingredients. Ingredients that work with your skin, without causing irritation. Ingredients your skin would choose, from sustainable sources and sustainably packaged. Their skincare is made for every type of skin conditions and type there is out there, meaning there really is something for everyone. Even sensitive skin! Plus, they’re cruelty-free and always expanding their vegan range of products too.
With bottles made with Ocean Plastic, tubes made from post-consumer-recycled plastic and designed for continuous recycling. They partner with other brans such as the likes of Surfers Against Sewage and Plastic Patrol that share their vision of sustainability.
All of this leads to their Pledge to become Zero Waste by 2021, in that all of their packaging will be 100% recycled, recyclable and reusable.
I have been using REN since before we offered it online and in our Salon. I love that they are so sustainable, but do not compromise on the quality of their skincare because of that. My personal favourite product of theirs is the REN Perfect Canvas Jelly Oil Cleanser. I use this every single evening to take off my make-up and the SPF that I have been wearing throughout the day. It is one of the few products that I feel takes absolutely everything off, without leaving my skin feeling dry and stripped down of its natural oils. It is even safe for the eye and lip areas too.
Their Global Protection Day Cream is a synergetic blend of powerful antioxidant and free radical scavengers, together with soothing and nourishing seed oils to help protect the skin against dehydration and oxidation damage. This is my favourite moisturiser for REN. Their new packaging includes certified recycled plastic, made through a groundbreaking technology that can recycle mixed plastic waste otherwise destined for incineration or landfill, which I think is very intelligent.
Their Ready, Steady, Glow Daily AHA Tonic is a great seller at our salon, and for good reasons. It is a tonic that exfoliates, brightens, tightens and hydrates the skin for a smooth, even and energised complexion. All the glow, without the irritation. It can be used every day, however, if you’re using this, do not use another exfoliator on the same day. However, if you wanted to use a physical exfoliator one day, then just do not use this, and then continue the day afterwards.
They even offer product products, such as the AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum. This is a smooth and light moisturising body serum with AHAs that works with the skin to naturally exfoliate, leaving skin radiant with a natural glow. I always suggest this to clients who may have a few spots on their back, chest or even arms and legs. As it is resurfacing, it is ideal to help with any little bits of acne, or any dark spots you may have.
