There are many different types of products on the market with many different application methods, but at this time of year there’s no denying that mists are one of the most popular. The idea of a mist is that the applicator gives you a fine mist of product over your whole face, and some don’t even need to be rubbed in, but they all have a different purpose. Here are five of our favourites:
Dermalogica Antioxidant HydraMist
Mists usually feel very refreshing a moisturising, so it stands to reason that Dermalogica would create a mist specifically designed to hydrate the skin. It provides a wash of antioxidant protection with flash-firming properties designed to improve skin texture while intensely hydrating dry, dehydrated skin.
This tonic from Decleor is designed to refresh the skin, as well as containing salicylic acid to gently exfoliate and refine skin’s texture. It contains mint-flower water, lemongrass, thyme and rosemary which rejuvenate the skin while offering a uniquely fragrant experience for your senses. It can be used at any time, but is also excellent as a setting spray for make-up.
Misting products are especially good for sensitive skin as they can help to reduce inflammation and calm redness and the feeling of tightness. This mist from Dermalogica was created to do exactly that and will also help to repair the skin’s natural barrier and support the skin while it recovers from damage. Ideal for use after chemical treatments.
This Tea Tree S.O.S. spray from Elemis is a mist like no other – it can be used in so many different ways, which makes it worth its weight in gold! It contains concentrated tea tree oil, which is a known anti-bacterial and is used for fungal infections on the feet, cuts and spots, protecting against insect bites, soothing the skin after waxing and so much more!
Acne-prone skin can be problematic in many ways, but this misting toner tackles many of the issues. Firstly, it contains bacteria-killing properties which can kill the spot-causing germs before they’re able to form blemishes. It also contains ingredients which soothe the skin, reducing redness and soreness, and addressing the root causes of spots, as well as a beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates surface skin cells.
