Chamomile, not just for tea

Elemis Soothing Chamomile Cleanser

When you think of chamomile, you tend to automatically think of the herbal tea that helps lower stress levels, regulate sleep and boosts the immune system.

However, it is the soothing qualities of this plant that can also have a positive impact on our skin. Due to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich nature of chamomile, it is found in a variety of beauty products and some of those are stocked on the Pure-Beauty website.

One of our favourite new products is the Elemis Soothing Chamomile Cleanser. Specifically created for sensitive skin, this cleaner gently removes dirt and dissolves make-up without upsetting the natural balance of the skin. The unique formula contains extracts of Chamomile, Lecithin, Vitamin E and F which come together to soothe the skin and leave it feeling nourished and soft.

If your complexion is sensitive and prone to redness, chamomile can really help. The Dermalogica Gentle Soothing Booster is a concentrated, oil-free blend of botanicals that calm and hydrate irritated skin. Soothing Red Raspberry, Honey and calming flower extracts, including Calendula, Chamomile and Cornflower, reduce irritation and restore natural moisture levels. Just a little massaged into clean skin can make a big difference from the very first application.

If you suffer with dark spots and shadows under your eyes, you might want to try the Decleor Anti-Dark Circle Multi-Brightening Eye Care. A unique White Focus complex has been enhanced with Vitamin C and Chamomile to help reduce puffiness as well as hydrate and smooth the skin leaving it looking clear and bright.

Chamomile is great at dealing with the inflammation associated with breakouts, which is why it’s one of the key ingredients in the Dermalogica Clearing Mattifier product. While this is a medicated treatment it is also packed with Cinnamon Bark Extract, Green Tea and Chamomile to offer a holistic approach to acne. After cleansing simply apply Dermalogica Clearing Mattifier sparingly to areas prone to excess oil production and breakouts and let it get to work.

During the winter months, our bodies can get tired and dull and this is where the Dermalogica Body Hydrating Cream comes into play. This advanced body cream is full of essential plant oils that smooth and condition the skin so it can deal with the elements and central heating. Hydroxy acids from sugar cane and apple are mixed with Lactic Acid which together combat dryness. Green Tea, Lavender, Tea Tree and Chamomile oils have been blended to soothe and soften the skin and essential oils of Sandalwood, Orange, Clary Sage, Patchouli and Rosemary help hydrate it and lock in much-needed moisture.

Elemis De-Stress Massage Oil is a popular product at Pure Beauty and is the perfect way to soothe the mind, melt tension and leaves your body feeling free and relaxed. Essential oils of Rosewood, Melissa, Marjoram, Geranium, Rosemary, Lavender and Chamomile have been blended together to create a deeply relaxing potion that helps bring dry, tired and mature skin back to life.
