There’s no doubt that some of the most powerful ingredients in a number of our Dermalogica and Decleor products are things which come from nature. One of those ingredients is clay, something which can be found all over the place but is incredibly potent when used in the right way. Obviously, you can’t just go and dig it up out of your garden so we thought we’d share with you our favourite products containing clay and show you exactly what they’re good for.
Decleor Clay and Herbal Cleansing Mask
This clay-based mask is packed with plant and fruit extracts which work together to purify and soften the skin. The clay absorbs impurities and draws them away from the skin, leaving your face clean and clear while the other ingredients refine the skins texture. This is a great product for normal or combination skin as it balances it out by removing excess sebum and replenishing moisture in areas of dryness.
Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser
This cleanser contains a combination of specialist clays, including Kaolin and Green Clay, which wick away oil and impurities. It’s a soothing formulation which uses extracts of cucumber and sage to alleviate irritation and dryness while astringent menthol and other plant extracts help to prevent future breakouts and over-production of oil.
Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque
Acne-prone skin needs to be handled with extra care – you’ll need strong products to deal with the individual issues such as oil production and spot breakouts, while ensuring that the ingredients don’t further irritate the skin and cause a vicious cycle of symptoms. Dermalogica’s Sebum Clearing Masque uses Kaolin and Bentonite clay to deeply cleanse and soothe the skin while the Niacinamide, Zinc Gluconate, Yeast Extract, Caffeine and Biotin inhibit sebum production and irritation.
Dermalogica Pore Control Scrub
Teenagers are notorious for having problem skin which is prone to breakouts and oiliness. This scrub uses earth clays to mop up any excess sebum, the oil which causes clogged pores and spots, and contains green tea, liquorice and menthol, which have anti-inflammatory properties to reduce inflammation. It’s gentle enough to use daily and even contains an antimicrobial which actively kills bacteria.
Dermalogica Skin Refining Masque
This masque combines powerful clays with a number of botanicals such as Mallow, Arnica, Cucumber, Watercress, Lemon and Ivy. It can be used as an all-over masque or just on the T-zone for absorbing excess oil and soothing dryness. It purifies the pores and removes dead skin cells leaving your skin ultra clean and revived.
