When you have just spent the last few days on a festival site with limited washing facilities, too much wind, rain and sun, and not enough sleep, your skin will be showing the signs of strain by the time you make it back to the comfort of your own home.
If you have been sensible and taken travel sized skincare products with you and removed your make-up and mud every night before crawling into your sleeping bag, you will doubtless have minimised the impact on your complexion.
Either way, once you have had your first cup of tea and changed into clean clothes, you could do worse than treat your skin to a little Dermalogica pick-me-up:
1. First things first, get straight back into the routine of double cleansing; Precleanse will loosen debris, oils and impurities that are caked to the surface of the skin, preparing the skin for some real deep cleansing. Follow with your usual cleanser to ensure that you clear your pores and reduce the likelihood of post festival blemishes.
2. If your skin is dull, dehydrated and sleep-deprived, make sure you give it a much-needed boost with a masque. You will know best which type of mask you need, whether it is one that is designed to absorb excess oils and unblock congested follicles or one that will deliver intense hydration to restore moisture and reduce dehydration lines.
