Organising a big night on the town with the girls is a fantastic way of giving yourself something to look forward to during a long week at work, and making preparations and getting ready are all part of the fun.
If you are planning on making a proper night of it, and hitting the dance floor with a vengeance, you may start to wonder how on earth your make-up is going to stay in place throughout the night.
As well as throwing some serious shapes, there are other factors which can also have a negative effect on the staying power of your make-up- such as smoke machines and busy and humid bars and clubs.
However, just by taking heed of a few simple tips, you can increase the longevity of your make-up and look as fresh as a daisy all night.
Firstly, don’t apply your make-up straight after a bath or shower, as your skin is still likely to be warm- so any make-up applied may start to melt before you’ve even left the house.
Make sure that you cleanse, tone and moisturise properly- this will provide the perfect base for your make-up. Try and use a light moisturiser such as Dermalogica Active Moist– which moisturises effectively without feeling heavy.
Although it may be tempting, try not to layer on tons as foundation, as it is likely to get oily far more quickly, particularly in humid nightspots. Carrying oil blotting sheets in your handbag will help keep shine at bay throughout the night- and is preferable to regularly applying more powder- which will start to look caked on.
Follow these simple steps and hit the dance floor with confidence.
