Your moisturiser shouldn’t interfere with your makeup

Spending an absolute age carefully applying cosmetics only to find that it is starts to slide off your face just minutes after you’ve applied it is incredibly annoying, although if you’ve spent a pretty penny on top quality products, it might be that another culprit is to blame.

One of the major causes of makeup which doesn’t stand the test of time is unsuitably prepped skin, and more often than not, an overly oily moisturiser plays a huge part in this.

Many people wrongly believe that, in order to provide skin with the hydration that it needs, a really rich heavily oil-based moisturiser needs to be applied, although this is not necessarily always the case.

Whilst really dehydrated and prematurely aging skin often needs to be treated with a rich moisturiser, this doesn’t apply to every skin type- especially skin which is oily.

Instead, if you feel that your moisturiser is interfering with the state of your makeup, opt for a lighter oil free product such as Dermalogica Active Moist.

A product such as Dermalogica Active Moist will still keep skin properly hydrated, yet won’t lead to overly oily skin- which in turn can really help your makeup to stay put.
